The gut-brain balance sheet

What your microbiome has to do with how you handle money stress.

The gut and the brain talk constantly, and the conversation goes both ways. Stress changes the gut. A disrupted gut changes mood, focus and tolerance for stress. Money worry sits right in the middle of that loop.

What the research says

Diets high in ultra-processed food are consistently associated with lower microbial diversity and higher reported anxiety. It's not proof of cause, but the direction is consistent, and it matches what we see: the weeks with the most late orders are the weeks clients describe as the most anxious.

You can't think clearly about money with a gut that's been eating like it's under attack.

A modest fix

Fibre, fermented food, regular meal times. Nothing exotic. Within three weeks most clients describe money conversations as easier, not because the numbers changed but because they could sit with them.
